A magnificently ornate and very beautiful, 1940's ceramic cake stand by Royal Winton, Grimwades, for their Golden Age range, comprising three tiers of circular plates, each decorated with raised and embossed leaf detail.  Fabulously art deco in style.
It is in wonderful condition for its age - I can find no chips nor cracks, just some age related crazing on the underside of the plates.  All the gold is still intact.  It looks almost unused.
The stand can be disassembled with ease by unscrewing the central metal spine.
