Very unusual lidded dish in an elegant, oval shape by the renowned and highly sought after Elpa Alcobaca ceramics in Portugal, known for their extravagant and intricately decorated pieces.  This dish is no exception - a host of beautifully crafted blue, daisy-like flowers with yellow centres adorn the lid (x 28) and the base (x 44).
The condition of the dish is very good - I can find no chips or cracks to the off-white dish and lid, just some minor age-related crazing.  A few of the ceramic daisies are slightly chipped but this does not detract from the unique beauty of this piece.
