A large and exceedingly pretty, versatile serving bowl, dating from around 1940's/1950's or possibly earlier by Johnson Brothers, England. Quite a rare find.
26 cm in diameter and 9 cm depth, it is decorated simply yet with ornate detail: a central floral bouquet with a fine gold line surround, a band of creamy yellow encased in a second fine, gold line, a band of cream with gold filigree edging, a peacock blue ring encased in another fine, gold line and fluted edging.
Lovely as a fruit bowl, a salad server or for ornamental display.
Superb condition - no chips, cracks or crazing. The colours are still bright and true and there is no evidence of any fading to the gold decoration either.
