A very rare and sought after tea set in fine bone china decorated in 22 kt gold, dating from the 1950's and made by the prestigious Leonard St Pottery in Burslem, Staffordshire. The set is visually extremely impressive.

The set comprises:

6 tea cups, height 7.5 cm, diameter 9 cm

6 saucers, 14.5 cm in diameter

6 tea plates, 16.5 cm in diameter

1 sugar bowl, height 7 cm, diameter 11 cm

All pieces have gently scalloped edges and are in truly remarkable condition for their age. I have examined each piece and can find no obvious chips or cracks anywhere. There tea plates especially look unused. There are a few patches of fading to the gold here and there. One of the tea cups has more fading than the others, please see final photo. Possibly been through a dishwasher.

Little is known about Leonard St Pottery but it was renowned for its elaborate designs, often featuring 22 kt gold trim. They were also highly regarded for their excellent craftsmanship and quality. It ceased to operate in the early 1960's.
