Dating from 1906, this magnificent, oval serving platter has delicately scalloped edging and pretty, hand-painted floral decoration. The design is Florida.  Made by Burgess & Leigh, Middleport Pottery, in England, it is in exceptional condition for its age - there are no discernible chips nor cracks, just a small patch of faint, age-related crazing, as shown, that has discoloured the surface somewhat.  Still sturdy and strong, this could be used for serving or carving; it could also be displayed ornamentally.  Truly beautiful.
